Hi, I’m Barbara Robinson and I run Robinson Tutoring.
I’m a very warm and creative teacher with many years of experience teaching in Cornwall.

I set up this tutoring business in 2024 after taking early retirement. Since then, the business has flourished and I have built upon my strengths teaching children and young people in both academic and creative areas.
I’m a highly regarded teacher with qualified teacher status for Foundation/Reception age to the age of 11. I hold a BEd (Hons) First class degree. I’ve had 25 happy years of teaching and leading dynamic teams with professional and academic development.
I led Art across Cornwall as a Primary Advisor for the subject; developing schemes of work, training teachers and coaching staff.
I lecture for several academic institutions delivering and creating modules on child development, motivation and teaching primary art and science to undergraduates and graduates.
As a professional leader, I develop staff through coaching and providing professional development with a particular focus on personalised growth and creative mindset.
I am experienced and trained in safeguarding with expertise in the field of trauma informed approaches.
In my spare time, I love art; both creating and appreciating. I relish travelling at home and abroad to places of natural and cultural beauty. I’m a huge fan of nature and the outdoors and love discovering new stunning views or spotting wildlife! I also love reading, laughing, socialising and music (a massive fan of Radio 6!) I’m a proud Cornish lady and I adore my family and my cats!
